  • Wrist malas are regularly $20+HST – so you can get two for just $30!
  • Full-length malas are priced from $35-$45 depending on the stone.

The wrist malas make great stocking stuffers – choose one for yourself and one for someone special. Jade, Rose Quartz, Pink Opal, Lapis or Dumortierite – all have their own unique healing qualities. Check them out by clicking on the related links in the sidebar.

And a full-length mala would make a gracious gift for the meditator in your life – a nice counterbalance to the frivolousness that sometimes marks the season. Choose Natural Polished Shell  for the Scorpio, Pisces or Cancerian on your list, to help them highlight their watery, intuitive qualities. Or choose Gold Leaf Agate for the friend or family member in need of a little more balance and self-acceptance.

We’re particularly proud to offer the Snowflake Obsidian full-length mala – Snowflake Obsidian is a transformative stone whose appearance evokes the image of a gentle snow flurry on a dark winter’s night  And we’ve made it extra-special by adding a sterling silver guru bead.

Enjoy … and have a happy, safe and joyful holiday!

New malas available at Moksha Yoga Scarborough

Welcome to Spring at Child of the Earth!

Just in time to welcome the May flowers, we have several new malas available at Moksha Yoga Scarborough. The first is a full-length mala made from Epidote semi-precious stones.

Epidote Meditation Mala

Epidote Meditation Mala

Epidote is a very positive stone that is also  stabilizing at the deepest, most fundamental levels. Its delicious ‘pistachio’ green shade has earned it the nickname “pistachio stone,” but it also exhibits deeper greens as well as a mix of gorgeous sienna and umber variations.

We also have a couple of new wrist malas available. There’s Rose Quartz, a heart-opening stone whose properties you can read about on the Rose Quartz Meditation Mala page.

And for the first time, we’ve created a Pink Opal wrist mala. Pink Opal is a gentle and delicately-coloured stone. Like Epidote, it has a nickname – “the peppermint candy stone” – and but Pink Opal is more potent than this sweet signifier might suggest. For example, Pink Opal teaches love and non-violence and promotes connection with one’s inner knowing. It assists with the release of old patterns and deepens insight into psychological issues. Physically, it nourishes the lungs, spleen, hear and connective tissue.

As always, if you’re looking for more in-depth information about the healing properties of these and many other semi-precious stones, see one of the suggested resources on the Resources page.

Well, that’s all the news for now. Hope you have a happy Spring!
